Dynamic device groups have an active membership, meaning mobile devices are automatically added or removed from a device group based on specific conditions. Dynamic grouping is typically better than manual grouping because it has more enforcing capability and requires less manual effort. Listed below are some use cases of dynamic device groups.

Create new rules to configure a dynamic device group
Use conditions to specify the criteria required for grouping devices. You can add multiple conditions to filter out devices. You can automatically add devices to a dynamic device group that qualify for the defined criteria.
Under Configure Conditions, select properties. The properties are made of eight sections along with corresponding sub-properties:

Custom Fields
Apart from the default properties, Scalefusion allows you to create custom fields as per your requirement
Select the required property. Click on the + sign to add the sub-property. It will be named Condition 1 by default.
Note: You can rename condition groups by clicking on the edit icon next to it
For the added sub-property, select the operator from the drop-down list. The type of operators available to set the conditions depends on the sub-property type.
Add values to the sub-property to complete defining the rule
Note: The values change based on the sub-property type. It can be text, a drop-down list or a date widget
You can use the AND / OR operators between conditions
To create another condition, repeat steps 5-7
Click Next to complete defining the rule

Set Automation Rules
Under the Automation Rules, Schedules & Alerts tab, you can apply the rule to your device group; it will remove the devices from the group which don’t meet the conditions and vice-versa
Configure Schedule
Set a schedule that allows the dynamic group to run at periodic intervals

Run and execute the rule every 6 or 12 hours. You can schedule a sync everyday or repeat it on selected days.

Configure Email Alerts
Set up notification alerts via email. The email shares a summary of the number of devices added and removed from the dynamic device group. You will also find a CSV doc containing device details.
Click Test Run
Click Create Rule. You will find the rule under the Automation tab.
