We’re thrilled to announce new features for Linux devices—Remote Terminal and User Account Management—now available with the latest version of the Linux MDM agent. These updates empower admins with enhanced remote management capabilities, further simplifying maintenance and support for Linux systems.
Remote Terminal for Linux Devices
With the latest version, IT admins can now take remote terminal access to Linux devices directly from the Scalefusion dashboard. This feature facilitates remote support and maintenance activities, an approach similar to terminal-based access and troubleshooting.
Once the latest Scalefusion agent is installed on a device, it will appear in the Remote Cast & Control section of the Scalefusion dashboard, allowing IT admins to initiate a remote troubleshooting session. This process ensures IT admins can efficiently support, maintain, and troubleshoot their Linux devices without any additional steps.
Use Case and Importance
The Remote Terminal feature is crucial for several reasons:
- Efficient Troubleshooting: IT teams can quickly diagnose and fix issues without needing physical access to the device, reducing downtime and improving productivity.
- Secure Support: Remote terminal access allows for secure and controlled support, ensuring only authorized personnel can perform maintenance tasks.
- Resource Optimization: Many Linux devices, especially those used in server environments, do not have graphical interfaces. The Remote Terminal enables admins to manage these devices effectively, leveraging the power of CLI commands.
- Scalability: For organizations managing a large fleet of Linux devices, remote terminal access simplifies the process of scaling support operations, making it easier to handle multiple devices simultaneously.
User Account Management for Linux
Similar to our offerings for Windows and macOS, IT admins can now create user accounts on Linux devices remotely from the device details section or in bulk from the device group section. This feature aims to enhance the ease of managing user access across multiple devices.
That’s a Wrap!
