Simplifying Windows App Management: Introducing Windows App Catalog

At Scalefusion, we are big on continuously bettering the device management experience for our customers (that means you!). While our core offerings aim to improve the outcomes of digital transformation for businesses, our main focus has always been to simplify device management for IT administrators.

As the next step to make Windows device provisioning easy for IT admins, we are excited to introduce Windows App Catalog.

This feature is set to improve the experience of publishing and managing applications on Windows devices.

Over the past few years, we have consistently added updates to ensure that Windows device enrollment is as seamless as possible. However, we have recognized that a significant portion of IT efforts is dedicated to creating device profiles, including app curation and provisioning.

One of the main challenges involves selecting the appropriate apps and making them available on the Scalefusion dashboard. We wanted to enhance this experience, and we are thrilled to do so with the new Windows App Catalog feature.

IT administrators can now utilize Scalefusion to search and discover the latest versions of third-party apps they wish to install directly from the Scalefusion dashboard.

A look at Windows App Catalog and how it works

On the Scalefusion dashboard, IT admins can:

    • Search for third-party apps on the Windows Business Store
    • Add apps to the App Catalog
    • Create app configurations
    • Install the app on device groups or device profiles
    • Install updates and apply patches to the apps
    • View the status of app installation

While the applications and their packages are maintained centrally by the app publisher, IT teams gain enhanced control over how the apps are installed on enrolled Windows devices.

IT administrators can also select and add categories for the apps, apply filters and search for apps within a specific category, making installation from the App Catalog even more convenient.

As the size of the device inventory for provisioning and management increases, installing business apps can get complex. Our goal is to simplify this process by assisting you in curating the list of applications via Windows App Catalog.

We are continuously working on enhancing the IT admin experience of using Scalefusion. We encourage our customers to try the new Windows App Catalog feature and provide their valuable feedback. Log in to your Scalefusion account today to explore this exciting new feature!
